You'll learn how to use your tasting notes to make objective conclusions on a wine's style, quality and readiness for drinking.
At Red Grape Coaching, we strive to enhance your wine knowledge and appreciation. Join us on a journey where every sip tells a story, and every grape has a history...and here's my story.
Snowed in on a skiing holiday, with nothing to do, so we booked a wine tasting in the local wine bar. The sommelier opened 6 bottles from the local region, the Aosta Valley.
We tasted, we listened, we were hooked. The stand out bottle was the Sangue di Giuda - a sweet, sparkling red!
Returning to London I booked the WSET Level 1 - I learnt a lot, tasted loads and eventually ditched my Banking job and opened a Wine School in London. #lovemyjob
Please reach us at sam@redgrapecoaching.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No. If you have some wine knowledge you can start at Level 2. We do not recommend starting at Level 3 - the jump from 2 to 3 is a big one!
Book the course, you get instant access. Complete each module, and each one is followed by some quiz questions, just to make sure we've nailed the learning objectives. Then decide if you want to take the exam. Get in ouch at that point sam@redgrapecoaching.com
Nope! The exams are a great way to test your knowledge but they are not compulsory. And only really matter if you are looking to add the "certification" to your CV so you can get that dream job!
The exam is online and has to be invigilated by the team at WSET. So we book the date and time with you. You take the exam on your laptop/PC and record yourself using a secondary device (usually a phone) You get all your systems ready. You take the exam. WSET check all the recordings. The results get sent to you as soon as we receive them from WSET. CLICK HERE for more details
The exam is online, and every exam recording is watched back by WSET invigilators - who have to charge us for their time. Plus there is some admin around recording details, and registering students.
We decided to split the exam and the course as some people just want to do the course, learn the content and not worry about the exam at all.
The choice is yours!
